Vision and Mission of the North Coast Architecture Center

We believe that there is a positive value to a Community when the public is more aware of architecture, and understands more about architecture.

The North Coast Architecture Center will address the appreciation and usefulness of "Design" as a key element in the built environment.

AIA 150

The North Coast Architecture Center (NCAC) is a project by the local Redwood Empire Chapter of the American Institute of Architects as part of a nationwide celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of that organization.

Chapters around the country are creating organizations, processes and programs to address issues that contribute to more livable and sustainable communities.

Overview of the General Workings of the North Coast Architecture Center

The Architecture Center is starting as a virtual entity with computer links and will come together at specific physical locations for specific events. In the future, we will work toward establishing a permanent physical location for exhibits, talks, discussions, etc. in the Redwood Empire Chapter area.

The Architecture Center will provide an educational venue to increase the awareness about Architecture and will work with groups and communities on design matters and assistance in building community design awareness through exhibits and lectures.

The Architecture Center hopes to eventually provide active community-oriented services to include assistance to set up design workshops and charrettes. Exhibits will be created to assist discussions of community issues.

The Architecture Center will bring architectural materials to public schools and libraries through links to AIA National, AIA State and other providers.
